Ordering Raw Food Products Information-FAQ

Shipping
We ship all of our products frozen in insulated boxes or bags with dry ice and ice packs. We limit our boxes to 50 LBS, So larger orders may come in several boxes. Everything will be sent out frozen and tightly packed. If any of your products arrive Cold thawed out or start to defrost, this is normal and safe!  You can thaw and re-freeze pet food without any issues being caused to the product.

What Quality are the meats you sell

We have strict standards when it comes to sourcing our meats, working exclusively with suppliers who provide only human-grade meats. Our products are free from antibiotics, steroids, hormones, and any form of enhancement. You can trust that your pet is getting the best, most natural meat when you choose BeyondWhiskers products. With our pet food, you can rest assured that we prioritize the safety and quality of our ingredients. Our vendors do not work with any meats that have been enhanced, meaning they have not been injected with sodium solution common in the meat industry. We also prohibit the purchase of meats that have been cleaned with an acid solution. Additionally, all of our products have been thoroughly tested by our vendors before being offered to our customers and have passed USDA inspection. You can trust that your pet is getting the best, safest, and highest quality food when you choose our products.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY PET WON'T EAT SOMETHING I PURCHASED?

 

We understand that every pet has likes as well as dislikes. Unfortunately, we cannot provide any refunds or exchanges on items that are not enjoyed by your pet. We recommend consulting with your veterinarian to discuss other potential feeding options to ensure that your pet receives the proper nutrition. In the event that your pet consistently refuses to eat the item, we recommend donating it to a local animal shelter or rescue organization to ensure that it does not go to waste. Your pet's wellness and happiness are our top priorities, and we are here to help you find the best solutions for your furry friend.

Due to the perishable nature of our product, we do not offer any refunds or exchanges once an item is purchased. You must purchase at your own risk. However, if you are having trouble feeding a specific item, feel free to email us for tips and tricks on how to feed it or for some other possible uses for the product. Raw Diet Questions

MY DOG HAS DIARRHEA… WHAT DO I DO?
Raw feeding for your pet is a complete and balanced diet designed to provide all the nutrients your furry friend needs for a healthy and happy life. However, it's important to note that during the transition period, diarrhea may occur as your pet's system adjusts to the new diet. If your pet experiences watery and loose stool, simple feeding changes can help resolve the issue within a day or two. Additionally, some dogs may experience inflammation and have spots of bright red blood in their stool, indicating irritation in the large intestine. Rest assured, with proper care and monitoring, your pet can thrive on a raw diet and enjoy the many health benefits it has to offer.
 

When diarrhea occurs, there are a few things that you can do to help get your pet use to raw foods - 

1. Make sure you remove any skin and fat from what you are feeding

2. Feed more bone. Once the stool starts to firm up, start cutting down on the excess bone and resume normal feedings

3. Reduce the amount of food being offered. Overfeeding can shock the system and cause diarrhea!

If your dog is having diarrhea due to the introduction of a new protein or organ, simply go back to the last items you fed until a normal stool is established for a couple of days. Then slowly begin to introduce the new item again, but in very small amounts.

Exaggerate if you have to; introduce an amount the size of a dime. It does not matter how small it is, simply start with a tiny bit and every day double that tiny bit in size.

MY DOG IS THROWING UP WATERY, YELLOW FLUID IN BETWEEN MEALS

This is what raw feeders call “hunger pukes”. The reason this happens is that the rates at which raw and kibble are digested are different.  Raw food gets digested much faster than dry food, thus leaving your dog feeling hungry and the body reacts to this with hunger pukes. Usually, this tends to happen when you feed on a pretty strict schedule. As morning or evening time comes, your dog’s body knows its time to eat and the body anticipates meal time by producing bile. If meal time is running a little late, the same reaction can occur. Once bile is produced, your dog may vomit it up to remove it from the body.  

 A good way to try and eliminate hunger pukes is by feeding at different times. Or providing a snack/treat in between meals. 

If your dog is throwing up repeatedly throughout the day, and/or cannot keep food or water down, and/or is acting strange, please see your vet immediately.
